CSD SUPPLIED AND INSTALLED THE GALLOPER OFFSHORE WIND FARM WITH NOFIRNO AND RISE NOFIRNO

A £20 million contract to manufacture and build the topside and jacket for the offshore sub-station of the Galloper Offshore Wind Farm was secured by Heerema.

Galloper Offshore Wind Farm is an extension to the Greater Gabbard Wind Farm, but was being developed as an entirely separate entity. In delivering the contract, Heerema was working from its yard in Hartlepool, and using supply-chain facilities from within the region.

CSD Sealing Systems was ideally situated in the North East to supply the project with the NOFIRNO sealing system on a large number of pipe penetrations as well as the RISE NOFIRNO sealing system as the best solution to seal the projects cable transits. CSD’s highly experienced team also worked alongside the contractor to deliver a high quality installation to a timely completion.

The vessel installed the first turbine at the site in May this year and is due for commission in early 2018.

The Galloper substation platform will connect turbine generators to a single Offshore Substation Platform (OSP) by subsea array cables. The OSP will be linked to the onshore transition joint bay near Sizewell by two subsea export cables. The offshore site is located within the outer Thames Estuary, 27 kilometres off the Suffolk coast with water depths of 27 to 39 metres.
